Yvonne Nelson, a Ghanaian Actress has announce her intention to embark on a demonstration this year if the power cuts that is popularly known by the Ghanaians as “Dumsor” doesn’t end. She said this on er twitter page and she is serious. “#DUMSORMUSTSTOP !!!! We are gonna hit the streets soon if it doesn’t stop!” @NAkuffo Addo.
In the ear 2015 when the National Democratic Congress in short NDC was in power, these same Actresses, actors and even some musicians joined hand in the street to demonstrate against the ruling party which was led by the National Democratic Party (NDC) under the John Dramani Mahama governance in 2015.
They actually stated all this allegation on this same social media and it grew to something else following the things that actually went in there. Their Demonstration was actually a cool case because, Their sales of CD’s and other stuffs that make them a lot of money was at stake for the reason being that the power outages known as Dumsor Dumsor.
Following this power outages massacre, Few weeks today a Ghanaian comedian Derrik Kobina Bonney who is popularly known as DKB on Facebook make allegations that, the Power Distribution Service Ghana PDS ha one week to fix the power outages problem or else he is gonna embark on demonstration exercise. In a Video he released that was making waves on social media, The Comedian was heard saying that, he cannot afford to buy fuel into his generator each and every day because the fuel price is also high.The comedian asked,
“We thought ECG was horrible now the new one is Proper Dumsor or Permanent Dumsor, I don’t even know what their name is. 50 cedis fuel gone already to power generator, now I’m on my way to buy another one. Am I supposed to be using my money to buy fuel?”
He continued that, Nobody shoul blame him if he embark on any Dumsor demonstration again polical party and so if any political party misbehave he is gonna hummer them. He ended tat he do not owe anyone an apology,
In the year 2015 of may, Yvonne Nelson Headed Dumsor Demonstration in which she involed personalities like Prince David Osei, Afia Schwarzenegger, Van Vicker, Efya, a Musician, Comedian DKB, D Black and Wanlovee Kubolor.
This demo was actually a way to put pressure on the ruling government to resolve the poer crisis at that time
For about a week now some places in the country is experiencing total blackouts at most times which even resulted in one of the workers from Power Distribution Service ( PDS) had his nose wounded at the Greater Accra Region at Kokrobite.
According to the Power Distribution Company, this power crisis is as a result of some technical faults they are having with their machines.
Footage from parliament indicted that, Minority Group has asked the Power Distribution Company to put things in place and release a Dumsor timetable so as for the companies and individuals purchasing their service can plan ahead of time.
